In 1951, the foundation of present museum collections was established in the Historical Museum of the city from Velingrad's schools, a cultural center and smaller museum. A few months later, these collections were converted into the house museum "Vela Peeva" With a decision of the ministry of culture in 1991, the statutes of the museum were changed and it once again was converted into a h istorical m useum. The Museum underwent special construction during 1982, creating a large and comfortable building for the exhibition hall.
Through more than three decades of its own history, the Museum has been selected among Bulgaria's "100 national historical objects." It is also in the catalogue "Museums of the World," published in Munich , Germany . |
