| Convenient highways and railways reach Targovishte from the following main directions: Sofia-Varna and Rousse-Yambol. The town of Targovishte is situated on the international road E-722, which in its four-lane construction is known as the highway "Hemus." |

The town of Targovishte is the center of the Targovishte Region. The museum is located in the old "Varosh" neighborhood, which is close to the city center and the highway between Sofia and Varna.
