The museum has no permanent exhibition. It has four exhibition halls and a 90-seat cinema. Currently, there are two exhibitions.

"Together Against Drugs" is a part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' program for prevention of drug addiction among young people. Through pictures, paraphernalia, documents, statistical data, diagrams, videos, etc., information is given about the most common narcotics, the scope of the problem in Bulgaria, the negative effects of drug use, as well as the measures the ministry has taken against illegal drug manufacturing, distribution and trafficking.

The second exhibition "The Eightieth Anniversary of the Police Directorate" traces back the history of the organization, uniforms, weapons, and award system of the police between 1925 and 2005. Using photographs, documents and artifacts, the exposition focuses on some typical criminal cases, the way they were solved, and the culprits' profiles.

Founder -

The first records of a police museum in Bulgaria date back to 1907 when the Capital City Police Bill was passed. Article 38 states that: "The Museum of the Police is part of . the legislative department." The first exhibits consisted of various types of weapons, crime tools and other paraphernalia. The police collections are updated periodically. The building where the museum is housed today was build in 1912, designed by the famous Bulgarian architect Georgy Fingov in a typical Secession style. In 1976 the building was declared a monument of culture.

The museum possesses a rich collection of weapons, police uniforms (both Bulgarian and foreign), orders and medals, badges, works of art, photo archives, and a library. The museum can offer qualified scientific and informational help related to expositions and can carry out historical research connected with the history of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
