A network of museums consists of:
• The Historical exhibition
• The Ethnographic Complex with a family house from the late 19th century
• "Dobroudja and the sea" exhibition that housed in a specially restored medieval bath and a small museum at Kaliakra Cape .

"Dobroudja and the sea" exhibition is a small maritime museum. Visitors can see stone anchors, amphorae, coins of different periods, gold treasure, and other objects that were discovered in underwater archaeological expeditions near Dobroudja coastline. The Ethnographic Complex is situated in a Bulgarian house. The interior shows the style of living of the main groups of inhabitants of that district- from Dobroudja, Kotel and the Gagaous (Turkish-speaking Christians). Arvchaeological sites such as the fortress wall, baths, buildings, basilicas, and tombs can be visited in the archaeological reserves "Yaylata" and "Kaliakra".

Founder Ivan Raphailov

In 1956 a historical exhibition was established in Kavarna. Its aim was to preserve monuments of culture in the town. Ivan Raphailov was a first Chairman. After some years, the Historical museum in Kavarna was established in 1971. The Ethnographic Complex was opened for visitors in 1984. The Exhibition “Dobroudja and the sea” was opened in 1988. Since 2003 the main exhibition moved into the present building. A scientific group undertake archaeological excavations.
