Tryavna is an old town with rich cultural traditions and history. During the Revival period, the town became home to the biggest and the most famous art school in Bulgaria. The specialities of the school are icon-painting, woodcarving, and architecture. Visitors can experience a lot of Western-style archtecutual monuments in town- the old town , clock tower, churches, and more. |

Angel Kantchev House Museum is the birthplace of the Bulgarian revolutionary Angel Kantchev. Exhibitions such as “Daily Life ” and “Documentary Exhibition ” show the life of Angel Kanchev and his revolutionary activity during the Liberation of Bulgaria (1877-1878). The museum also provides information about struggles of people in Tryavna against Turkish Yoke as well as their participation in the war of liberation . The museum possesses 200 objects of art such as wood carved ceilings, church wood carving, icon stands, wood en sculptures of Bulgarian khans and tsars, and wood en reliefs of important figures from Bulgarian Revival period. |

The museum was opened in 1970, 120 years after the birth of Angel Kantchev. The exhibition was entirely restored in between 1990 and 1993.
